Toronto was visited by an earthquake this morning…though we have our suspicions it was actually Jerry’s fault!
The guy just has really heavy feet.
Tonight’s mission: ACCOMPLISHED.
I took one of my monsters ideas/drawings, and started to give it life (while conveniently watching Fantastic Mr Fox).
After consulting the wearable form teacher at school the best way to approach a pattern, I made some calculations and drew it out on good ol’ cross section graph paper. Then I traced the piece on muslin (first time working with it!), marking where to sew to, etc.
Then: the sewing!
With this model I hemmed the tentacles, but with future iterations I’ll be making two of these: one for the exterior and one for the interior. I still have to figure out where the eyes would be best placed, but for now I’m calling it a night.
Also, I need to switch to a better camera for documentation. STAT.
