I make things! All kinds of things! Lately, lots of bow ties and monsters. This is a process blog/art journal of things I make, along with the occasional egotistical selfie, of course.
I have been making wallets since high school. The first wallets I made were out of old, weird comic books I’d buy for a dollar at the second hand book store in my tiny town. I’d cut them up and mac-tac/tape them together. Then I used the wallet until it completely fell to pieces (and so, don’t have any left to show).
The wallets in the top left photo are ones I have made in the past few years. Some out of paper and envelopes, one out of a tie, a couple of clear plastic wallets, and some never used cause the designs we just not right. The purple leather one at the botton I made a couple days ago, and can also been seen in the top of the next photo; the design needed tweaking, and the result is the grey/tan wallet shown in the next two photos. The leather is a bit too thick to be a good wallet, but it worked well enough to get the design hammered out, and I was able to test some stitch work design.
Anyways, I make swanky leather wallets now, which is key because I have heaps of leather just waiting to be turned into things. Also, I love that Desmond (my sewing machine) can handle sewing leather quite well. He’s a good partner in crime.
