A Transformer-Robot-Dinosaur who makes art.

I'm a designer and maker in Toronto, Canada.

I make things! All kinds of things! Lately, lots of bow ties and monsters. This is a process blog/art journal of things I make, along with the occasional egotistical selfie, of course.

Last night was the Buddies in Bad Times 35th anniversary party.

It was like a dream.  My face hurt from smiling so much. Olivia Chow showed up and made an endearing impromptu speech.  Keith Cole performed.  The lights were turned off and we all cracked glow sticks and said names of those who we have have loved and lost within the queer community: I was crying, and an older man next to me who I didn’t know was too, so I reached out and we side hugged and shared grief for the past and hope for the future.  The cake was so good I think I had at least three pieces.  I saw and hugged and chatted with many many wonderful individuals and met some new ones, too.

Buddies was the first queer space I became a part of when I first came out eight years ago.  It has only increased in significance in my life, as well as so many others.  I am so happy to have had the privilege of performing there of the years, and so proud of everyone who makes it the space that it is.

I donated some bow ties and some art work to a fundraiser for Buddies In Bad Times Theatre back in November, and this is what my donation receipt came in.
As if I didn’t love that place enough.

Last night at Buddies, Donnarama once again outdid herself: a Sound of Music Do-Re-Mi/Goat Herder mix/mash up and the most amazing props you’d ever hope to see.
