awesome comment is awesome.
(taken from my I AM A MONSTER post)
Toronto was visited by an earthquake this morning…though we have our suspicions it was actually Jerry’s fault!
The guy just has really heavy feet.
I AM A MONSTER, 2013
Part of my body of work for my OCADU undergrad thesis (more details can be found here). Photographed around Toronto, Canada.
Copies of these prints are available for purchase.
HERE THEY ARE: THE PHOTOS.
This is the first time posting them on the internet. Very excited to share them with you all.
Also, I now have a portfolio-type “professional” website, MadebyElija, where I’ll be posting finished work.
Thank you again for all your support through all of this; yes, YOU, everyone reading this.
As I am painfully formatting all of the photos I have taken of Wat out and about, I thought I’d go ahead and share one with you.
Experiencing the TTC and sporting a pronoun shirt: hooray for a day out in Toronto!
Sharon Needles takes Toronto! Illustration for the latest issue of Fab Magazine, accompanying their interview with the RuPaul’s Drag Race winner.
I really wanted to go to Sharon Needles this weekend, but wasn’t sure if I should because of thesis and money and blah blah blah.
Seeing this illustration this morning swayed me.
Canadian, Cat-Loving Tumblrers, I need your attention, please.
To the Canadian cat lovers of Tumblr, from Ontario; the Valleyfield SPCA is giving out free cats due to the over-population within their establishment. One-hundred cats are being given away, and they must find a home by the end of February, 2013. If these cats don’t find a home, they will be euthanized.
All of these cats have been vaccinated, de-wormed, had flea treatments, and fixed. These cats are all very friendly, affectionate and lovable- they do not deserve to be put to sleep like this. The cats are all one year old, and in desperate need of a home. If you know someone within the area looking for a free, treated and healthy cat- throw them in this direction. Please.
I just can’t stand to see this, as a cat lover myself. I already have two who do not like new-comers, and I’m not in the area or financial stability to take another in. Please, please, please; consider these poor cats. They deserve better than this. Ugh, this is making me cry. Please, take a look. Spread the word around. See if we can save a few lives. These babies deserve better than this. Please. Look at them. They deserve a family too.
If you have any questions, please direct them to the KIJIJI PAGE made to try and get the information out there.
TL;DR: Free cats. All de-wormed, given flea treatments, fixed, and vaccinated. If they aren’t found homes by the end of February they will be put to sleep. Kijiji page is above, for the Valleyfield SPCA. Please help them find a home and save a few lives, please.
OH GOD, IT’S SO TEMPTING.

Business cards!
I’m going to a maker-mixer-thing tonight, so I made some special business cards to hand out.
They’re simple and fun, and hopefully alluring and memorable. So excited!
Material Art & Design Thesis 2013 proudly presents their first-ever pop up shop!
Hosted by Untitled & Co. at Bathurst & Queen, MAAD will be selling handmade and vintage items at every price point. We are bound to have something you’ll love, and with Christmas just around the corner, this is a perfect opportunity to buy gifts for all your friends and family.
The OCAD University MAAD Thesis class is arranging to have a catalogue published at the end of the academic year to accompany our work at the Grad Exhibition. Our group consists of 40 students who work with various materials in jewelry and fibre ranging from metals, wood, paper, woven pieces, that are both sculptural, and wearable forms.
Attending our pop up shop and buying our pieces will enable us to produce a professional catalogue that we are proud to distribute locally and internationally, as well as exhibit our work in a professional local gallery.

Guess what?!
I’ve got another illustration in the Globe & Mail today! It involves horribly monstrous raccoons and I’m thrilled with how well it printed. If you pick up a paper today, awesome. If not, I’ll have a high-quality scan of the image up on this here blog sometime soon.
Raccoon power!
P.S: Some eagle-eyed readers may notice I used some themes from my Cat Attack (!!!) piece in this one. It was a neat chance to remedy some of the mistakes that happened with the cats and also play at painting those adorable buildings again.
OMG. Best.
Helllllloooooooo new desktop background!
Dragonette has usurped Sherlock, if only temporarily; there’s a free concert in Nathan Phillips Square tonight, and guess who’s going? THIS GUY.
I bought wellingtons earlier this week (and woke up early this morning) for the express purpose to tromp around High Park.
I’m going to look for monsters.
